Giant scratching posts

Customer service A+ also sturdiness and quality very good, but unfortunately my cats hate the sisal as it seems to have a plastic coating and they are used to more of a rope sisal so only one of my cats use them and just scratch the bottom carpet on the post, so whilst I like the post, my cats dont.

Mountain climbing the Giant Scratching Post

My cats love climbing their new toy right to the top.

New giant scratching post

Our kitten loves this giant scratching post. He's Burmese, 4 months old, and he loves climbing up to the top, chasing a shoelace, or toy. He's also played with the attachment. These are very well made.

LARGE CAT SCRATCHING POST

Really happy with the construction of the base and post. There does seem to be a lot of carpet strands coming off the post when the cat scratches it and they collect around the base. So not sure how long the post will last but apart from that all good!

Highly recommended

My 2 cats scratch the post on a daily basis. It's tall enough for them to stretch our our and big enough for 2 cats to scratch at once. Especially good for indoor cats.

He's going to grow into it ...

Absolutely beautiful scratching post ordered for my Cornish Rex kitten and almost completely ignored by him since he arrived three days ago - because, obviously, he's a cat so prefers the cardboard boxes and string that all the expensive items were delivered in (thank goodness I kept them!). Once he has destroyed them all, several weeks from now, he'll be delighted with this toy which I think will survive his fiercest depredations well into adulthood. Fantastic service from Comfypet, who delivered immediately and took all the stress out of anticipating how to keep him from climbing the curtains.

Better than most scratch post: Superb build quality

Our cats have destroyed 3 of the standard string cat scratchers in less than 3 years. The Comfy Pet tall scratcher is by far a higher quality product than the ones found in most pet stores. Yes its more expensive, but the fact that it can be repaired means it can last a lot longer than the sisal wound around a cardboard tube type.

Excellent product

Very well made quality product made with quality materials. Cat loves it and he is not gentle with it . The scratch post is sturdy, hasn't wobbled even when launched at by cat. Highly recomend this for all cats.

From Scratch to Finish: The Superior Raw Materials of Our Cat Scratchers

Triboard
The cornerstone of our 10-Year Structural Warranty is the base and landings of our Cat Trees, constructed from 100% sustainable New Zealand Radiata pine. This material not only meets rigorous quality and environmental standards, but its stability offers unparalleled load-bearing and screw-holding capabilities. While it may be more costly, we view this as an essential investment in the longevity of our Cat Trees, especially given the current high demand.

Pine Poles
Our upright poles, the backbone of our Cat Trees, are built from solid 100mm thick New Zealand pine. The carpeting on these poles is firmly glued and stapled, allowing for longevity and easy recovery even after your cat has extensively used the surface. This feature ensures that our products are both sustainable and extendable over time.

Carpet
Our choice of carpet material prioritises your cat's safety and comfort. We exclusively use cut pile carpets, which are less likely to catch your cat's claws compared to loop pile varieties. Many of the high-quality carpets we utilise are locally sourced from New Zealand. For example, the Cavalier Bremworth carpet, which can cost upwards of $300 per linear meter, is extensively used in our products. In fact, our popular New Yorker model requires more than 2.25 linear meters of this carpet.

Sisal
Our top-quality, maritime-grade Sisal is carefully hand-wound onto our uprights, secured with industrial staples for maximum durability. Crafted to withstand even the most ambitious feline with a fierce spirit, our Sisal proves to be the strongest available on the market. So, for cats that channel their inner tiger, we say: let the scratching games begin!

Colours and Extras

Within the shopping cart's section, there is a box in which you can enter your request. Let us know if you like a colour that you have seen on any of our other models, and we will do our best to accommodate your request to have that colour applied to this model.

Because we construct each of our trees in-house, we are able to fulfil the majority of our customers' needs. There is a possibility that this will incur additional costs, however we will tell you of these costs before we construct your unit.

Once more, this is something that we are able to perform for an additional fee. You can send us an email with your request, and we will respond with a price estimate.

That is dependent upon your feline friend. Sisal is durable enough to survive the claws of a cat for many months or even years. Nevertheless, some felines like the plusher texture of carpet.

Delivery

If you choose one of our bigger cat trees, it may take a bit longer to arrive as these units are made to order. Your tracking information will be sent to you immediately after your item/s are shipped. To transport them around New Zealand, for our larger trees we strap and pack them on pallets once they've left our factory you will be contacted by our bulk freight company.

Absolutely not! Each of our cat trees is shipped out of our factory in a completely built state. Once our cat trees have been delivered, you will not need to screw or glue them together.

We do, and we've already sent New Yorkers to Australia. It is not cheap, and you must email us with your address to receive a firm quote. The cost of shipping a New Yorker to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, or Adelaide by sea is around $1227.35.

We do not pass on the complete cost of freight because it is prohibitively expensive to ship huge cat trees within New Zealand. Consider that transporting a New Yorker to your location would be similar to sending a sizable refrigerator there.

Recovering my old scratcher

Yes, if it's one of our own. If it's possible to bring it to our facility, we can usually have it restored to its original condition within a week. A fee will be charged if you live in Auckland and want us to pick up and drop off.

Depending on the model, most cat trees only require the uprights to be refurbished. Single posts typically range between $40 and $70, and large cat trees require an email with a photo so that we can provide you with an accurate quote.

We are unable to do so due to the fact that the vast majority of scratching posts sold in pet stores are constructed of cardboard, which makes it difficult for our carpet to adhere to.
