  • Introducing the New Jersey Cat Scratcher, inspired by the overwhelming success of our best-selling New Yorker model. We've listened to your feedback and designed a more compact version, perfect for smaller spaces and apartments. Standing at 105cm tall, the New Jersey Cat Scratcher is an ideal choice for cat owners who love the New Yorker but need something more space-efficient.

Like its taller sibling, the New Jersey is a favorite among discerning feline enthusiasts in urban areas. The New Jersey Cat Scratcher provides ample space for multiple cats, allowing each feline to stretch out, relax, and enjoy their own little piece of paradise. Experience the best of the New Yorker in a more compact form with our New Jersey Cat Scratcher - a purrfect choice for cat lovers everywhere.

Fantastic product! My cats love it! Won’t get off it! Super sturdy and beautifully made. Wonderful customer service…the best!

Great addition for our senior cats

Looks and feels much beefier built than our existing Manhattan, thicker base and much larger house for both cats. Bought it due to the lower position of the house so less impact on their joints when jumping down. Daniel was very accommodating with the custom built preferences. Very happy with the product.

New Jersey is an instant hit

I recently bought the New Jersey to give both cats their own spot, we have a Manhattan so wanted a shorter and more space efficient tower for our growing boy. The minute it was brought into the house he was straight onto it, it’s great to watch both cats playing together on it as the house is a good size.
Comfy pets customer care is amazing and are so happy to try and help you in any way they can.

Sally loves her Tree - spends time up high both observing or sleeping. She scratches all the carpet areas - wish I had chosen carpet instead of sisal on the poles. She plays with the mouse - chases her ping pong balls through the hole!!

Great product

3 cats in our family & they all love it but not always at the same time. They take turns at claiming it as their own & enjoying their particular “best feature”.

Purrfect for an amputee!

Our rescue cat is missing her right rear leg (following an illegal trap incident). Wanting to help keep her active, we invested in the New Jersey. We (and she) couldn't be more pleased. Solid and stable, it has plenty of options for her to play, snooze, and enjoy her best life.

But she's not alone... We foster kittens and cats for a rescue centre, and they're all going to benefit from this.

My favorite so far

I have had many comfy pets towers in the past, and this one I must say is my all time favorite!
All of my cats use it even though I got it for the kittens.
Super sturdy and a real nice piece which will fit with any decor.
Would highly recommend this one.

Carpet Stripper

Bought 1.8 m pole 5 years ago when I moved to my new apartment. My Birman boy managed to totally stripped it in that time. After many years of having to toss perfectly useable cat scratchers because there was nobody to recover them it is wonderful that I have finally found a company who will recover their scratcher. They have an impressive set-up and we're extremely helpful. I also love their range of very well made scratchers.

From Scratch to Finish: The Superior Raw Materials of Our Cat Scratchers

From Scratch to Finish: The Superior Raw Materials of Our Cat Scratchers

Triboard
The cornerstone of our 10-Year Structural Warranty is the base and landings of our Cat Trees, constructed from 100% sustainable New Zealand Radiata pine. This material not only meets rigorous quality and environmental standards, but its stability offers unparalleled load-bearing and screw-holding capabilities. While it may be more costly, we view this as an essential investment in the longevity of our Cat Trees, especially given the current high demand.

Pine Poles
Our upright poles, the backbone of our Cat Trees, are built from solid 100mm thick New Zealand pine. The carpeting on these poles is firmly glued and stapled, allowing for longevity and easy recovery even after your cat has extensively used the surface. This feature ensures that our products are both sustainable and extendable over time.

Carpet
Our choice of carpet material prioritises your cat's safety and comfort. We exclusively use cut pile carpets, which are less likely to catch your cat's claws compared to loop pile varieties. Many of the high-quality carpets we utilise are locally sourced from New Zealand. For example, the Cavalier Bremworth carpet, which can cost upwards of $300 per linear meter, is extensively used in our products. In fact, our popular New Yorker model requires more than 2.25 linear meters of this carpet.

Sisal
Our top-quality, maritime-grade Sisal is carefully hand-wound onto our uprights, secured with industrial staples for maximum durability. Crafted to withstand even the most ambitious feline with a fierce spirit, our Sisal proves to be the strongest available on the market. So, for cats that channel their inner tiger, we say: let the scratching games begin!

Colours and Extras

Within the shopping cart's section, there is a box in which you can enter your request. Let us know if you like a colour that you have seen on any of our other models, and we will do our best to accommodate your request to have that colour applied to this model.

Because we construct each of our trees in-house, we are able to fulfil the majority of our customers' needs. There is a possibility that this will incur additional costs, however we will tell you of these costs before we construct your unit.

Once more, this is something that we are able to perform for an additional fee. You can send us an email with your request, and we will respond with a price estimate.

That is dependent upon your feline friend. Sisal is durable enough to survive the claws of a cat for many months or even years. Nevertheless, some felines like the plusher texture of carpet.

Delivery

If you choose one of our bigger cat trees, it may take a bit longer to arrive as these units are made to order. Your tracking information will be sent to you immediately after your item/s are shipped. To transport them around New Zealand, for our larger trees we strap and pack them on pallets once they've left our factory you will be contacted by our bulk freight company.

Absolutely not! Each of our cat trees is shipped out of our factory in a completely built state. Once our cat trees have been delivered, you will not need to screw or glue them together.

We do, and we've already sent New Yorkers to Australia. It is not cheap, and you must email us with your address to receive a firm quote. The cost of shipping a New Yorker to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, or Adelaide by sea is around $1227.35.

We do not pass on the complete cost of freight because it is prohibitively expensive to ship huge cat trees within New Zealand. Consider that transporting a New Yorker to your location would be similar to sending a sizable refrigerator there.

Recovering my old scratcher

Yes, if it's one of our own. If it's possible to bring it to our facility, we can usually have it restored to its original condition within a week. A fee will be charged if you live in Auckland and want us to pick up and drop off.

Depending on the model, most cat trees only require the uprights to be refurbished. Single posts typically range between $40 and $70, and large cat trees require an email with a photo so that we can provide you with an accurate quote.

We are unable to do so due to the fact that the vast majority of scratching posts sold in pet stores are constructed of cardboard, which makes it difficult for our carpet to adhere to.
