Cat loves it

Have had cheaper ones from Kmart that our cat has ignored in favour of the carpet or chair causing a lot of damage. Since we received this post our cat has been using multiple times during the day. Having carpet is a lot softer on her paws vs. the sisal. Will be purchasing the stairs in the future as she is getting older.

Good quality and the cat loves it

Solid wood and lush carpet... just everything a cat dreams of. He's over 5kg so he needed something he could really dig his claws into without lifting the entire post. He didn't care too much for it when first introduced but soon helped himself and loves to play around it with his toy and for scratching. He never really liked the cheap stuff so I'm super glad he loves this.

Really happy with our scratch pole!! Our mum got it to take to our grandparents so when they catsit us their furniture is safe and we have been practicing on it at home! Quality item Im sure it is worth the money. Mum is patiently for the Black Friday Sale so she can get us a Chicago and upgrade from the cheap crappy trademe one we have almost destroyed hehe.

Fell apart in two months, plastic comming out of it

Pretty disappointing for what you pay, the carpet is comming off in under two months with light use. To make matters worse, bits of plastic are comming out of it, which the cats are then trying to eat. Best not to use waste your money, go to kmart and get one that is miles cheaper, and lasts longer (7 months and still going strong). We tried going to animates, where we bought it from, and they emailed the manufacturer, who pretty much said "suck it, just trim the plastic". Overpriced and underperformed, and they have no interest in resolving the issue. I will update my review if any follow up is made.

Hi Cameron,

Thank you for sharing your feedback on the KatAttack Delta Square Base Post. We're sorry to hear about your experience and any inconvenience caused.

Our scratchers are made with high-quality cut pile carpet, which is designed to withstand regular use. However, if a cat has found the joint of the carpet and started to fray it, the backing may become visible. Cats actually love the texture of the carpet backing, and the more it's frayed, the more they enjoy it. A simple trim with a pair of scissors can help maintain the appearance and keep you satisfied. We understand this may disappoint your furry friend, but it's important to note that the fraying does not affect the functionality of the scratcher.

We take all customer reviews seriously and strive to provide top-quality products. We're sorry that our scratcher didn't meet your expectations. It's worth mentioning that we have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from our customers, with mostly 5-star reviews, praising the quality of our products.

If you have any further concerns or questions, please feel free to reach out to us directly. We appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to address your concerns.

Thanks ComfyPet

Great product, awesome service

Our cat had the taller scratcher - as we downsized so did it to this wee gem. He's straight onto it, giving it the 'love'. Big shout out to the team who communicated brilliantly during the manufacture and on delivery. Fantastic Kiwi product and awesome Kiwi service.

Best cat scratcher ever

Solid construction I am impressed. Cat went for it soon as it was unpacked and was soon hanging off by all 4 feet while mauling the dangly thing. Sofa hasn't been abused since and everyone is thrilled with this purchase. If you are on the fence about purchasing, just buy it!

Excellent

Mittens loves his new scratching post. It's very solid, which is just what he needs. He doesn't like sisal so this fully carpeted post is perfect. The couch has been attacked less since we gave it to him.

Dispatch and delivery was fast for this time of year. Quality of the scratching post is excellent, much higher than regular cat scratchers. No wobbles even when he goes nuts at it.

From Scratch to Finish: The Superior Raw Materials of Our Cat Scratchers

From Scratch to Finish: The Superior Raw Materials of Our Cat Scratchers

Triboard
The cornerstone of our 10-Year Structural Warranty is the base and landings of our Cat Trees, constructed from 100% sustainable New Zealand Radiata pine. This material not only meets rigorous quality and environmental standards, but its stability offers unparalleled load-bearing and screw-holding capabilities. While it may be more costly, we view this as an essential investment in the longevity of our Cat Trees, especially given the current high demand.

Pine Poles
Our upright poles, the backbone of our Cat Trees, are built from solid 100mm thick New Zealand pine. The carpeting on these poles is firmly glued and stapled, allowing for longevity and easy recovery even after your cat has extensively used the surface. This feature ensures that our products are both sustainable and extendable over time.

Carpet
Our choice of carpet material prioritises your cat's safety and comfort. We exclusively use cut pile carpets, which are less likely to catch your cat's claws compared to loop pile varieties. Many of the high-quality carpets we utilise are locally sourced from New Zealand. For example, the Cavalier Bremworth carpet, which can cost upwards of $300 per linear meter, is extensively used in our products. In fact, our popular New Yorker model requires more than 2.25 linear meters of this carpet.

Sisal
Our top-quality, maritime-grade Sisal is carefully hand-wound onto our uprights, secured with industrial staples for maximum durability. Crafted to withstand even the most ambitious feline with a fierce spirit, our Sisal proves to be the strongest available on the market. So, for cats that channel their inner tiger, we say: let the scratching games begin!

All your questions answered

Colours and Extras

Within the shopping cart's section, there is a box in which you can enter your request. Let us know if you like a colour that you have seen on any of our other models, and we will do our best to accommodate your request to have that colour applied to this model.

Because we construct each of our trees in-house, we are able to fulfil the majority of our customers' needs. There is a possibility that this will incur additional costs, however we will tell you of these costs before we construct your unit.

Once more, this is something that we are able to perform for an additional fee. You can send us an email with your request, and we will respond with a price estimate.

That is dependent upon your feline friend. Sisal is durable enough to survive the claws of a cat for many months or even years. Nevertheless, some felines like the plusher texture of carpet.

Delivery

If you choose one of our bigger cat trees, it may take a bit longer to arrive as these units are made to order. Your tracking information will be sent to you immediately after your item/s are shipped. To transport them around New Zealand, for our larger trees we strap and pack them on pallets once they've left our factory you will be contacted by our bulk freight company.

Absolutely not! Each of our cat trees is shipped out of our factory in a completely built state. Once our cat trees have been delivered, you will not need to screw or glue them together.

We do, and we've already sent New Yorkers to Australia. It is not cheap, and you must email us with your address to receive a firm quote. The cost of shipping a New Yorker to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, or Adelaide by sea is around $1227.35.

We do not pass on the complete cost of freight because it is prohibitively expensive to ship huge cat trees within New Zealand. Consider that transporting a New Yorker to your location would be similar to sending a sizable refrigerator there.

Recovering my old scratcher

Yes, if it's one of our own. If it's possible to bring it to our facility, we can usually have it restored to its original condition within a week. A fee will be charged if you live in Auckland and want us to pick up and drop off.

Depending on the model, most cat trees only require the uprights to be refurbished. Single posts typically range between $40 and $70, and large cat trees require an email with a photo so that we can provide you with an accurate quote.

We are unable to do so due to the fact that the vast majority of scratching posts sold in pet stores are constructed of cardboard, which makes it difficult for our carpet to adhere to.
